Lounges at Kansai International Airport

Travel Information

Tue, 28 Nov 2023

Visiting Kansai International Airport? Here's your guide to the lounges where you can use your Priority Pass and Lounge Key. One notable distinction is that only Priority Pass holders can access the ANA Lounge.

  • Priority Pass: Access to 6 lounges
  • Lounge Key: Access to 5 lounges

Great news! The Japanese restaurant BOTEJYU has reopened, and the use of both Priority Pass and Lounge Key has significantly expanded in recent months, with new inclusions like Lounge Rokko and Lounge Kongo.

In this article, we'll guide you through the lounges available at Kansai International Airport, including their locations, directions, and opening hours.

  • Both domestic and international flyers at Kansai can use the Priority Pass and Lounge Key.
  • The key difference between Priority Pass and Lounge Key is exclusive Priority Pass access to the ANA Lounge.
  • For domestic travelers, the Japanese restaurant BOTEJYU1946 offers a ¥3,400 (including tax) discount on delicious meals.
  • Note: The low-cost carrier (LCC) exclusive Terminal 2 does not have airline or card lounges, so be cautious!

Lounges Exclusive for Domestic Flight Passengers

First, let's introduce two lounges available for domestic flight passengers. Both lounges are located in the departure area after security check. The Japanese restaurants BOTEJYU1946 and Japan Traveling Restaurant by BOTEJYU are in the same location and under the same management. Essentially, there's only one Priority Pass-accessible domestic lounge.

BOTEJYU1946

Founded in 1946, BOTEJYU is renowned for its delicious okonomiyaki. By presenting your Priority Pass or Lounge Key, you receive a ¥3,400 discount per person on all food and drinks (dine-in only).

Find this restaurant opposite Gate 26 in the departure area post-security. Whether departing or arriving, you can enjoy this lounge, and you can bring up to 3 guests. If two people, including the member, dine, the total discount will amount to ¥6,800 (including tax). Ensure to check your Priority Pass conditions, especially for guests' charges.

A top pick for many is the ANA Lounge, located in the North Wing departure area near Gate 15. It's essential to note that only Priority Pass holders can access this lounge, not Lounge Key users.

From 6:30 am to 11:00 am daily, Priority Pass cannot be used, so be cautious! Moreover, during peak seasons like summer vacations, there might be entrance restrictions as ANA's elite members get priority.

Although Priority Pass is no longer accepted at ANA Lounges in Haneda and Narita airports, we sincerely hope that Kansai International Airport continues to offer access to Priority Pass members!

Points to note about the lounges at Kansai Airport

caution logo

Since 2023, there has been a significant change in the lounges where Priority Pass and lounge keys can be used at Kansai International Airport. Sometimes lounges you thought were available have suddenly been removed from the usage list of Priority Pass and lounge keys.

Therefore, based on the latest information as of September 2023, we will introduce the points to note when using the lounges at Kansai Airport.

KAL Lounge of Korean Air is now closed

Once at Kansai International Airport, there was the "KAL Lounge" operated by Korean Air. However, now the lounge itself is closed, and the collaboration with Priority Pass and lounge key has ended.

Regardless of the airline company, the lounge was located in the general area before immigration inspection. Therefore, it was a convenient lounge that could be used by passengers on domestic flights as well as international flights.

Information stating "Boteyjyu Priority Pass Ended" is outdated

The "Boteyjyu" at Kansai International Airport was temporarily closed due to the airport's own renovation work. It has resumed operations since December 2022, and you can use Priority Pass, Diners Club, and lounge key as of September 2023.

JAL Lounge cannot be used with Priority Pass

At Kansai International Airport, there are lounges operated by ANA and JAL, but only the ANA lounge can be used with the Priority Pass. Note that the partnership at the Haneda ANA lounge ended at the end of January 2023, and the partnership at Narita Airport's ANA lounge ended on August 31, 2023. Kansai International Airport is the only one in Japan where you can use the Priority Pass at the ANA lounge.

There are no lounges in Terminal 2 of Kansai Airport

Kansai International Airport is divided into Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. All the lounges introduced so far are in Terminal 1. Terminal 2 is a terminal building for low-cost carriers (LCCs), and there are no lounges.

Regardless of the Priority Pass, there are no lounges operated by airlines or credit card companies in Terminal 2 of Kansai International Airport.
